Chronology:

May 2003-today: Researcher in IBM's Haifa Research Lab, in Information Retrieval group.

October 2002-today: Head developer of Hspell, a Hebrew spell-checker and morphological analyzer (a Free Software project).

Feb 2004-May 2005: Board member of Hamakor, Israeli Society for Free Software and Open Source Code.

August 2000-May 2003: Software engineer and researcher at Radware (RDWR). Did research, in areas of global Internet performance and content delivery networks (CDNs), and development, of CDNs and of embedded Linux-based SSL acceleration devices.

August 2000-2004: A consultant to Rafael, mainly in the areas of computing.

June 1994-August 2000: Researcher at Rafael, in the areas of Computational Fluid Dynamics and High Performance Computing.

1994-2002: Creator and editor of iguide.co.il (formerly ``the (almost) Complete Guide to WWW in Israel''.)

December 1999: Received an MSc in Applied Mathematics, from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Grade-point average 97.4, thesis grade 90.

1999: Initiated the ivrix.org.il Hebrew Linux project.

August 1991-June 1994: Functions as the system administrator of the Department of Mathematics' UNIX system.

Summer 1993: Works for AT&T Bell Laboratories (now Lucent Technologies), Mathematical Sciences Division, in creating an X-Windows graphical user interface.

1992: Finishes a complete ``Bagrut'', studying on his own.

August 1991-August 1992: Worked with Prof. Koby Rubinstein of the Department of Mathematics, Technion, on research concerning computerized image recognition.

March 1991: Started studying toward BA in Mathematics.

December 1990: Final stage of the Israel-Russia city tournament of Mathematics.

August 1990: Final stage of the Israeli Astrophysics Olympiad.

March 1990: Third place in the First Israeli Physics Olympiad.

September 1989: Skips ninth grade.

  1. April 1994: Yuval Levi z''l Prize for the highest GPA among students receiving a BA in Mathematics the same year.
  2. 1995: Wolf Prize for excellence from the Technion (on the BA, and the start of the MSc).
  3. 1991-1995: Receives Technion President Award each year for excellence in Studies.
  4. 11/1997, 10/1998, 11/1999: Received awards in Rafael.
